Child dedication on May 14

Parents/Guardians: If you have a child or children, newborn to age 12, whom you’d like to dedicate at RVUUF on Mothers Day, May 14, please email Rev. Nan L. White at minister@rvuuf.org, giving the full names and date of birth and names of parents/guardians, by a May 1 deadline.

‘Spring into Auction’ set for May 20 at RVUUF

RVUUF is holding its live and silent auctions on Saturday, May 20, from 5:30 to 8:30ish p.m., with “Food, wine and fun for all ages” planned. There is a $15 suggested donation for members and supporters of RVUUF, and tickets for friends and family are free. Scholarships are available and childcare will be provided.

New member classes begin next Sunday

Twice a year, fall and spring, RVUUF offers orientation classes for people who are interested in becoming a member of RVUUF. The next series of classes begin March 5, 2017.

Third-Sunday recipient, Safe Parking Task Force

Today’s third-Sunday collection recipient will be RVUUF’s Safe Parking Task Force, which is working to mitigate homelessness in Ashland by offering a safe space with an outdoor restroom for families without homes to temporarily park their vehicles overnight, without the threat of law enforcement or other types of harassment. SJ&A proposes overnight parking at RVUUF

There are many people who, having lost their homes, are forced to live in their cars or vans. Car camping on the street is illegal in Ashland and the police will move people on or ticket them.
