The RVUUF library sale, tentatively scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 15, needs 140 linear feet of gently-used books. From the most recent “News to Note,” so far the library has received contributions that measure 20 feet. Elinor Knight asked that donated books be left on the shelf in the library workroom.

The Building and Grounds Committee is asking people to plan ahead for RVUUF’s semi-annual Clean-Up Days, Aug. 7 and 8. Indoor and outdoor housekeeping and gardening chores have been planned. “Pick a task, have a fun lunch. It’s a great team effort.” A sign-up sheet will be available beginning Sunday, July 19.

In a 5-4 ruling today, the U.S. Supreme Court established federal recognition of marriage between same-sex partners. Rev. Peter Morales, president of the Unitarian Universalist Association, issued a statement applauding the decision.
