The RVUUF library sale, tentatively scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 15, needs 140 linear feet of gently-used books. From the most recent “News to Note,” so far the library has received contributions that measure 20 feet. Elinor Knight asked that donated books be left on the shelf in the library workroom.
RVUUF Builders is looking for a person to fill the Monday morning slot, 9 a.m. to noon. The requested skills include coffee making, answering the phone and greeting everyone with a smile. RVUUF Builders provides much-needed support for RVUUF administrator Dawn Nightshade. “RVUUF Riders” is an ad hoc group of RVUUFians who get together, usually on a Saturday morning, to ride their bicycles. A typical ride might be about 22 miles at a pace of about 10 to 12 mph. The Building and Grounds Committee is asking people to plan ahead for RVUUF’s semi-annual Clean-Up Days, Aug. 7 and 8. Indoor and outdoor housekeeping and gardening chores have been planned. “Pick a task, have a fun lunch. It’s a great team effort.” A sign-up sheet will be available beginning Sunday, July 19.

The Social Justice and Action (SJA) Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 9. In a 5-4 ruling today, the U.S. Supreme Court established federal recognition of marriage between same-sex partners. Rev. Peter Morales, president of the Unitarian Universalist Association, issued a statement applauding the decision.
